Terpene Ratios Simplified

Let's first understand the difference in weight -vs- volume when it comes to terpenes and formulating liquids with solids or thicker viscosities.

There is 1000 microliters in 1ml

Average terpene weight verses volume is between 8.75mg - 9mg weight per 1ml volume

In reverse this is 1.11ml - 1.14ml volume per 1gr weight

This same math on bulk is 875gr - 900gr weight per 1 Liter volume

In reverse this is 1111ml - 1142ml volume per 1kg weight  

Recommended terpene dilutions for distillate carts from mild to strong range.

CBD Distillate

7.5% - 15% vol.

7.5% - 15% wt.

All other distillates

5% - 10% vol.

5% - 9% wt.

Formulation for Direct Dabbing

Small batches

1 drop (50 microliters) per gram 

*Standard droppers will vary between 50 - 100 microliters unless it has a measurement on it for accuracy. This is why you'll notice everywhere mentions either 10 - 20 drops per ml. Scientifically measured there is 20 drops per ml.

Scaled batches

850 drops per liter

(each drop being 50ul = 20drops per ml) 

each 1ml average = 0.875gr)

so 850drops = 42,500ul (42.5ml)

so for 1 liter of distillate we recommend 42.5ml which is 37.18gr as a min.

*Anything less would be a waste by stretching the terpenes too far.
